The More You Know: 5 Things You May Not Know About Bitium

At Bitium, we understand that organizations need to evaluate every detail before making a commitment to purchase a solution. While some of you may feel plugged into the Bitium product after our recent blog post, we want to take you behind the scenes and share some lesser known facts about Bitium, our leadership team and board of directors.

Here are 5 things you may not know about Bitium:

#1: Bitium was created to solve the problems for the future state of IT.

My co-founder and I created Bitium after working together at other companies and testing existing identity and access management solutions. These first-generation solutions just didn’t cut it for what our teams needed in order to be productive in our daily work activities. So we decided to build our own solution. But it wasn’t just about building something for our immediate needs, it was about building for what will come next and being flexible in our approach thinking about how companies will work 5-10 years from now.

#2: Bitium isn’t just a password manager.

While our origins are in single sign-on, we offer so much more. Our cloud-forward approach means that no matter how complex the app ecosystem gets, we'll always focus on alleviating the friction and increasing efficiency. We also are serious about surfacing useful information to managers, not only around security and access events, but also about app usage and password strength. We take a holistic approach to identity and access management to empower organizations to manage all of their web-based apps. In fact, you could leverage our API to build your very own Bitium (developer.bitium.com); keep an eye out for more to come on that in our blog.

#3: ⅓ of our Board of Directors is made up of badass women.

Very few companies, let alone technology companies, have women on their board of directors. This is a sad fact and likely puts those companies at a significant disadvantage. We are happy to say that two of our six board members are women and even more pleased that they are kick-ass executives in the technology industry. Yvonne Wassenaar is the CIO of New Relic and has previously worked in technology leadership roles at VMware and Accenture, bringing Bitium vast expertise leveraging data and technology to drive competitive advantage. We are also lucky to have Mich Mathews-Spradlin, Microsoft’s former CMO, as a long-standing board member.

#4: Our customers' success is our success.

Signing a contract with us is just the first step in our commitment to your success. When we start a conversation with a customer, we make sure that there is a mutual fit. We invest in our customers -- from the first sales call to onboarding and as they grow their company in years to come. They are our partners and we want to make sure every one of our customers and their employees are the most productive version of themselves by using our technology. Our customers’ success is our success.

#5: Bitium is award-winning.

We are proud that others in our industry think highly of our product and team. Most recently we were selected as the Bronze Winner in the Startup of the Year category of Info Security Product Guide’s Global Excellence Awards. In 2015, we were named a Gartner Cool Vendor and CIOReview included us in a list of the 50 most promising Google technology providers.

The success of an identity and access management solution is determined not just by a seamless user experience and secure solution, but also by the flexibility of integration. Reach out to us directly to explore what would make sense for your business.
